Quilts of Valor

Our Quilts of Valor is just beginning but I am very hopeful that it will flourish and continue for many years. Quilts of Valor are made for our wounded soldiers to show them that someone thinks enough of their sacrifice to make them a quilt. They are purely donation quilts made with donated fabric, batting, backing, quilting, time and love.

We have a direct contact at The Walter Reed Medical Hospital and the Chaplin hands them out to soldiers. Having this contact makes me feel confident that the quilts we send are getting to those who need and will appreciate them the most. It is one small thing I can do. The shop is open for sewing the 4th Thursday of the month from Noon to 8pm.   Contact Kathy at (763) 784-7166 for more info.

Starlight Retreat Club

Starting February thru May you can chose from three different groups which will all work on another Glad Creations pattern.  Wednesday night, Thursday morning, or Saturday morning. Buy one of our kits or use up your stash. 

At the end, we will have a reveal for all three groups

1st Saturday Block of the Month

Our newest monthly Club is The 1st Saturday Block of the Month designed by Diane Caruso, who's pattern company Cat Nap Quilts, is very popular here at Calla Lily's. 

Grandma Shirley's Miniature Quilts Club

Grandma Shirley is really pattern designer, Shirley Krantz, of Princeton, Minnesota. Her friend, Judi Niemi, heads up our newest club which is in it's 3rd month. The 4th Tuesday of each month at 10am or 6pm Judi demos that months pattern and members make at least one block. Cost is $5.00 for the class and purchase of the pattern featured that month.  JOIN AT ANY TIME!

Miniatures have techniques and rules all their own and I know of no one better to teach them than Judi. You can come one month or every month, and meet some really great quilters at the same time. Some of our ladies are making two tops a month, one to keep and one to gift! You will be surprised at all you'll learn during this enjoyable evening.

Clothesline Club

The "Clothesline Club",  created by Minnesota's own Darlene Zimmerman, brings you monthly projects designed by Darlene using her reproduction fabrics.  Starting on January 15th meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month, you choose 10am or 6pm.  Judi Niemi heads up this fun and creative program.  Sign up begins in December, $25.00 for a 14 month membership.  Get a friend to join too and double your enjoyment!  As of January 22 there are still openings available!
